About Tarpon Springs Golf Course

Golf was first played on the site in 1907, and a club was organized in 1912 with nine holes under Scottish pro William D. Leith. The city hired Wayne Stiles and John Van Kleek in 1926 to rebuild and expand to 18 holes (completed 1929), and Mark Mahannah did later work in the 1950s. City-owned, it reopened in September 2014 after a greens renovation and is part of the Florida Historic Golf Trail.
