The Course at Sewanee, the nine-hole course of the University of the South, dates to 1915. Its original layout was the work of Albion Knight, who had no prior course-design experience. In 2013 Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner redesigned the course, keeping the original routing while rebuilding the greens, bunkers and tees. Alternate tees allow an 18-hole round.
