About The Links at Galloway

The Links at Galloway is a City of Memphis municipal course that opened in 1926 as Galloway Golf Course, one of the city's oldest. Like Memphis's other public courses it was reserved for whites during the Jim Crow era; the U.S. Supreme Court's 1963 ruling in Watson v. City of Memphis forced immediate desegregation of the city's municipal golf courses and parks, which until then had left only two of seven city courses open to Black golfers. Galloway was extensively renovated and reopened in 2002 with a design by Kevin Tucker.
