Toka Sticks Golf Course

Toka Sticks in Mesa began as the Williams Air Force Base golf course. The original nine holes date to the early 1950s, designed by the Army Corps of Engineers as a recreation facility for base personnel, with Air Force personnel and community volunteers building the first nine in exchange for golf privileges. The Air Force added a newer nine in the mid-1980s, and the course has been open to the public since December 1993. It is owned by the Gila River Indian Community, and its name changed from Williams Air Force Base Golf Course to Toka Sticks.
