The course began in 1932 as Silver Lake Golf Club, a nine-hole layout with sand greens. It closed in 1940 and sat dormant for years. Waushara Country Club formed in 1952, bought the old front nine and opened it in 1954. A back nine and new clubhouse were completed in 1978, and after the club bought 80 more acres in 1992, the current 27-hole layout opened in August 1994.
