Windmill Lakes Golf Club

Windmill Lakes opened in 1970 to a design by Edmund B. Ault, the prolific Mid-Atlantic architect, and has since become a fixture of northeastern Ohio golf. Just six miles from campus, it serves as the home course for Kent State University's men's and women's teams. The par-70 layout stretches to roughly 6,936 yards, leaning on only two par fives, a set of demanding long par fours, and large, rolling greens guarded by more than forty bunkers and five lakes. Over the decades the club has hosted a range of competitive golf, including USGA Amateur Public Links sectional qualifiers, the 1984 and 1993 Mid-American Conference men's championships, and collegiate events, and it now stages the Northern Ohio Golf Association's Northeast Ohio Amateur Championship.
