Ac Read Golf Course - Bayou/Lakeview

A.C. Read Golf Course is a 27-hole military course at Naval Air Station Pensacola, operated by Navy MWR. The first nine opened May 3, 1942 as recreation for naval personnel, with a second nine following months later; architect William Amick added a third nine in 1962 to bring it to 27 regulation holes. In 1954 it was named for former base commander Rear Admiral Albert Cushing Read, an avid golfer and member of NAS Pensacola's first naval aviator class. Jerry Pate led a renovation in 2003.
