The Ann Arbor Golf Club was formally organized on September 26, 1899, growing out of golf introduced by Scottish-born University of Michigan professors. In 1903 it incorporated as the Ann Arbor Golf and Outing Club and bought a 40-acre former farm at Stadium and Main, where it still sits. It remains a private club and one of Michigan's oldest continuing golf clubs.
