About Arizona Grand Golf Course

The course traces to 1984, when developer Bob Gosnell assembled acreage at the base of South Mountain in Phoenix. Architect Forrest Richardson routed an out-and-back layout across those parcels of desert, arroyos and rocky hills, and it opened in the late 1980s as The Pointe Golf Club at South Mountain, briefly known in the 1990s as Phantom Horse Golf Club. Now the Arizona Grand Golf Course at the Arizona Grand Resort, it borders South Mountain Park and Preserve and is open to public play.
