About Ashland Brookside Golf Course

Brookside is the City of Ashland's municipal course. The idea took shape under Mayor Don Hostettler in the mid-1960s, and work began in 1968, with the first nine costing about $284,000 all told. It opened around 1969-71, and the design is credited to Jack Kidwell with Michael Hurdzan and Xenophon Hassenplug.
