About Bay Point Resort Golf Club

The course now known as the Nicklaus Course at Bay Point was originally designed by Bruce Devlin and opened in 1986 as Lagoon Legend, known as one of the Panhandle's toughest layouts. It closed in 2004 for a major Nicklaus Design renovation and reopened in September 2005, the only Nicklaus Design course in Northwest Florida. Its greens were converted to TifEagle Bermuda in 2018, and it has hosted USGA U.S. Open Local Qualifiers.
