About Benson Park Golf Course

Golf at Benson Park in northwest Omaha dates to 1931, when a 9-hole course opened in the city park; it closed in 1947. The City of Omaha brought golf back in the 1960s with today's 18-hole layout, credited to Midwest architect Larry Packard (sources give 1962 or 1965 for the reopening). The municipal course rolls over the park's hills with mature tree-lined fairways and greenside bunkers.
