About Hilaman Golf Course

Designed by E. Lawrence Packard, the course opened in 1971 as Winewood Country Club. The City of Tallahassee bought it in 1981, named it for former City Commissioner Chad Hilaman, and reopened it in 1982. It is the city's 18-hole, par-72 municipal course. (It is separate from Tallahassee's Jake Gaither course, a 9-hole muni opened in 1956 for Black golfers during segregation.)
