Bird Homestead Golf Course sits about 12 miles out Funny River Road from Soldotna, on a former family homestead and horse farm that was turned into a golf course. The nine-hole public course opened in the early 2000s; sources give dates from 2001 to 2004. It has a driving range and practice green, and it holds weekly men's and ladies' nights.
