Moose Run Golf Course

Moose Run sits east of Anchorage at the foot of the Chugach Mountains and ranks as one of America's northernmost 36-hole golf facilities. Its story begins with the Hill Course, first cut as a nine-hole track by U.S. Army combat engineers in 1952 and extended to a full eighteen a few years later, giving it deep roots as a military and public golf home. The complex grew dramatically at the turn of the millennium when the Creek Course, a modern design by Robin Nelson of Nelson & Haworth, opened in 2000. The Corps of Engineers awarded that commission on the strength of a plan that minimized disturbance to the surrounding land and moose habitat. The Creek stretches past 7,300 yards and includes the longest hole in the state, a 640-yard par five.
