About Cypress Lakes Golf Club
The course opened in 1962 as the Chemstrand Employees Golf Association, built for workers at the Chemstrand (later Monsanto) chemical plant in Cantonment. Over the decades ownership passed from Monsanto to Solutia and then to Ascend Performance Materials, which renamed it Cypress Lakes Golf Club. It is now a public par-72 layout of about 6,396 yards carved from pine, oak and magnolia.
