Eagle River Golf Course is a municipally owned course that opened as a nine-hole layout in the 1920s, before Eagle River was incorporated as a city in 1934. A second nine opened in 1988, with architect Don Herfort credited for that year's work, bringing the course to 18 holes. The 13th hole runs along the fence line of the World Championship Snowmobile Derby track.
