We love the Floridian for its sense of place along the St. Lucie River, where Tom Fazio's rebuild gives members big, bold, beautifully conditioned golf. It is private and low-key by design, more retreat than showpiece, with a marina, cottages and a clubhouse that make a day here feel like a genuine escape.

About Floridian
The Floridian National Golf Club occupies roughly 300 acres along the western bank of the St. Lucie River in Palm City, Florida. Gary Player designed the original course, which opened in 1996 as the private retreat of Blockbuster and South Florida sports magnate H. Wayne Huizenga; for a time its membership was famously tiny. After Houston businessman Jim Crane bought the property in 2010, Tom Fazio completely rebuilt the golf course, and it reopened in November 2011 alongside a renovated clubhouse. In 2017 Crane added a nine-hole par-three practice course designed by Herfort Norby as a teaching facility for members and touring professionals. The riverside property also features a deepwater marina, guest cottages and a large four-story clubhouse. Long associated with professional golfers and its owner's ties to Major League Baseball, the Floridian remains an ultra-private, amenity-rich club rather than a public destination.
