Scarecrow is the third course at Gamble Sands in Brewster, opened to the public on August 1, 2025, after the Sands course (2014) and the 14-hole QuickSands short course (2021). David McLay Kidd drew a first routing for this land in 2015, but a power line crossing the property stalled it until the family agreed to move the line. It sits on about 300 acres and is more compact than the Sands course, with smaller greens.
