About Glencoe Golf Club
Glencoe Golf Club is a public course owned and run by the Village of Glencoe, founded in 1921 by residents seeking an alternative to private country clubs. Architect George O'Neil, with help from Skokie Country Club pro Phil Gaudin, designed the original layout; nine holes opened in spring 1922, the second nine was dedicated in 1925, and the full 18 were in play by 1931. The Village runs it under an intergovernmental agreement with the Forest Preserves of Cook County dating to 1922, and it admitted women members from the start.
