Beverly Country Club

Beverly Country Club dates to 1908, when members of the former Auburn Park Golf Club, having lost their lease, bought a 160-acre parcel known as the Sherman Farm on Chicago's South Side. The first course came from George O'Neil, the club's inaugural professional, working with prolific early architect Tom Bendelow. In 1918 the club engaged Donald Ross to modernize the layout, and over nearly a decade his plan was fully adopted, giving Beverly the strategic character it is known for today. In 2002 architect Ron Prichard led a restoration returning the course to Ross's ideas. Long regarded as one of Chicago's most significant clubs, Beverly has hosted U.S. Amateur championships and multiple Western Opens, cementing its place in the region's championship history.
