About Hollywood Beach Golf Club

A nine-hole course opened in late 1922 and the Hollywood Golf and Country Club was officially inaugurated on January 19, 1924, part of developer Joseph Young's Hollywood-by-the-Sea. Long attributed to Donald Ross, recent research found no evidence of his original involvement, pointing instead to Willie Park Jr. and other 1920s designers; Ross is credited with rebuilding the layout after the City of Hollywood took the course into public ownership in 1929.
