We love how Meadowbrook honors its roots. It is one of the rare American clubs tracing back to Willie Park Jr., and the recent restoration leaned into that heritage instead of erasing it. Walking these greens and bunkers, you feel a thoughtful bridge between 1916 and today, and that respect for the game wins us over.

Meadowbrook Country Club began in 1916, when a group of Northville businessmen bought farmland and brought in Willie Park Jr., the two-time Open champion and pioneering architect, to lay out the first holes. The course grew to eighteen holes by 1921 and was touched by other designers over the following decades. In 2016 the club closed for an extensive renovation led by Arizona-based architect Andy Staples, reopening in 2017. Rather than impose a new style, Staples reworked the holes to echo Park's original design language, drawing inspiration from Park's celebrated Huntercomb course in England. The rebuild included new greens, tees, bunkers, drainage, and fairway turf. Historically the club carried a strong competitive resume, hosting the 1955 PGA Championship and several editions of the Motor City Open. After the restoration it again drew Golf Association of Michigan championship play, underscoring its renewed standing among the state's better tests.
