About Gold Canyon Golf Resort
Gold Canyon Golf Resort sits in the foothills of the Superstition Mountains east of the Valley and is best known for Dinosaur Mountain, a Ken Kavanaugh design routed high into the rocky slopes with severe elevation changes, forced desert carries and postcard views of the range. Its short but exhilarating par-3s and tumbling fairways have made it a perennial pick among Arizona's finest public courses. The resort pairs Dinosaur Mountain with the lower-lying Sidewinder course, giving guests contrasting styles of desert golf across the property, alongside lodging and a spa. Reported construction dates for the two layouts vary across sources, so an exact opening year is left off here. Together the courses helped establish Gold Canyon as one of the state's signature desert-mountain golf destinations.
