Gunter's Landing Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 course designed by Jimmy Kennamer that opened for play in 1992. It sits on the shores of Guntersville Lake, with fairways cut through forested land and water in play on the 3rd and 5th holes. From the back tees it measures about 6,863 yards. The name recalls John Gunter, an early settler who traded with the Cherokee at the southern bend of the Tennessee River and whose store, Gunter's Landing, gave the town its name.
