About North Kingstown Golf Course

North Kingstown's course began in 1944 as a nine-hole Navy course for personnel at the Seabee base at Davisville, designed by Walter Johnson. Johnson, then chief engineer at Quonset Naval Air Station, redesigned it as 18 holes in 1966, with construction believed to have been done by Seabees. The Town of North Kingstown bought the course in 1982, and it now plays alongside Narragansett Bay as a town-owned public course.
