About Triggs Memorial Golf Course

Triggs Memorial is Providence's city-owned golf course and the only public layout Donald Ross designed in Rhode Island, though he kept a summer office in Little Compton. Built by Parks Department crews on former farmland in the Mount Pleasant section of the city, it opened in May 1932 in the depths of the Depression and was named for J. Triggs. FCG Associates has operated it under lease since 1990, adding irrigation, cart paths, a range and restored bunkers.
