About Delray Beach Golf Club

The City of Delray Beach bought 150 acres for a municipal course in 1923, and a nine-hole layout designed by legendary architect Donald Ross opened January 1, 1926. After World War II the city added a second nine designed by Dick Wilson, and the full 18-hole course opened in 1950. Operated by the city's Parks and Recreation Department, it remains public, with seven holes of the original Ross nine still in play as part of the current back nine.
