About Hyde Park Golf Club

Hyde Park Golf Club opened in 1925 and is billed as Jacksonville's oldest public golf course. It is traditionally credited to Donald Ross, though researcher Jay Smith has argued it is likely a Stanley Thompson design. It hosted the PGA Tour's Jacksonville Open in the 1940s-50s and is remembered for Ben Hogan's 11 on the par-3 sixth in 1947.
