Old Waverly proves a course doesn't need a century of history to feel like a classic. We love its championship pedigree, the lakeside setting, and the fact that it helped put small-town West Point on the golf map. A warm, walkable slice of Mississippi tradition.

About Old Waverly Golf Club
Old Waverly Golf Club opened in 1988 in West Point, Mississippi, founded by the George Bryan family together with a group of local founders. The course was designed by Bob Cupp in collaboration with U.S. Open champion Jerry Pate, blending classic parkland shaping around a central lake. Despite its youth, the club rose to national prominence just eleven years after opening when it hosted the 1999 U.S. Women's Open. Juli Inkster captured the first of her two Women's Open titles there, setting a then-record 16-under total of 272. Old Waverly has since welcomed additional USGA events, including the 2006 U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur and the 2019 U.S. Women's Amateur. The club later added the highly regarded Gil Hanse-designed Mossy Oak nearby, making West Point a genuine two-course golf destination.
