About Perdido Bay Golf Club

Perdido Bay Golf Club opened in 1963 as a par-72 Bill Amick design. From 1978 to 1987 it hosted the PGA Tour's Pensacola Open (as Perdido Bay Country Club), where Curtis Strange won his first Tour title in 1979 and Calvin Peete won by seven shots in 1982. The course was redesigned in 2001 by Amick and Bill Bergin, stretching it beyond 7,000 yards. It sits on Doug Ford Drive, named for the golfer.
