Sapelo Hammock is a Rusty Simmons design that opened in the late 1990s along the Sapelo River at Shellman Bluff on the McIntosh County coast. It closed in June 2010 for a renovation by its owners, Shellman Bluff Investors, which re-turfed the greens, redesigned several holes and refreshed the clubhouse before a reopening around 2011.
