Why we love this place
Born from a card game among friends and still owned by founders' families, Swan Lake is pure Long Island golf lore. We love its famously oversized greens, its welcoming public feel and a layout that lets beginners enjoy themselves while giving good players plenty to think about.

About Swan Lake Golf Club
Swan Lake Golf Club on River Road in Manorville traces its roots to a card game in 1964, when a group of friends recruited investors to buy 438 acres in eastern Long Island for a local golf course. The Jurgens family is credited with founding the club, and the course was laid out by architect Charles K. Martin. It is best known for its oversized greens, which give the eighteen-hole championship layout a fair but demanding character for beginners and accomplished players alike, and for the lake beside the clubhouse that lends the club its name. Ownership has stayed close to home: by its 50th-anniversary celebration the club counted 63 owners, including a handful of the original founders and their children.
