Dunwoodie Golf Course

Why we love this place

Hilltop golf in the heart of Yonkers, with more than a century of history under its fairways. We love Dunwoodie for its steep, character-filled terrain, its city-park accessibility and the way it squeezes a genuinely testing round into one of Westchester's busiest neighborhoods.

About Dunwoodie Golf Course

Dunwoodie Golf Course occupies the top of Dunwoodie Heights in the center of Yonkers and is one of the Westchester County park system's eighteen-hole public courses. Golf on the site dates to the early 1900s; directories give 1903 as the club's founding year, and research by golf historians suggests the original layout was in play from about 1906 until 1957 and was not the work of a famous architect. When Westchester County took over the property in 1957, it substantially reworked the routing. The current course is known for steep slopes and a mix of narrow and wide fairways, a hilly test that belies its compact city setting, and the county has recently expanded the 1st and 15th tees.
