We love Sweetgrass for what it represents: a tribal community turning farmland into one of the Upper Peninsula's finest courses. Immaculate turf, room to swing, and real teeth from the back tees. It rewards a plan and a smart tee choice, exactly the kind of solving we admire.

About Sweetgrass Golf Club
Sweetgrass Golf Club opened in 2008 at the Island Resort & Casino in Harris, Michigan, deep in the Upper Peninsula just west of Escanaba. Owned by the Hannahville Indian Community, a band of the Potawatomi Nation, the resort shaped the course from open farmland into a varied, meticulously conditioned 18-hole layout designed by architect Paul Albanese with Chris Lutzke. Stretching to roughly 7,275 yards from the tips, it plays to a par of 72 with a stout slope near 143, blending water, bold bunkering and generous corridors. The design earned quick acclaim, landing on America's Best New Courses lists from Golf Digest and Golfweek in 2009. Over the years the resort has hosted competitive golf, including stops on the LPGA's developmental Epson Tour, cementing Sweetgrass as one of the Upper Peninsula's premier golf destinations.
