The Florida Keys Country Club in Marathon traces to New Jersey industrialist Stanley Switlik, who began developing the land in the early 1950s and hired architect Mark Mahannah to design the course, built around 1960. Kipp Schulties led a 2018 redesign of the roughly 6,500-yard layout. It operates as semi-private.
