The Golf Club of the Wharf

Now known as Gulf Shores Golf Club and operated for a stretch as The Golf Club of the Wharf, this coastal Alabama course opened in 1963 to an Earl Stone design and ranks among the area's oldest tracks. From 2005 to 2007 it was substantially rebuilt by architects Jay and Carter Morrish, who lengthened the routing by a few hundred yards, widened and reshaped fairways, and added new water features and bunkering. The par-71 layout plays close to 6,850 yards from the tips, winding through low coastal terrain near the Gulf. Its blend of a mature, decades-old footprint with a modern Morrish renovation gives it both character and contemporary playability, and it stays a public, resort-friendly stop for visitors touring the Gulf Shores and Orange Beach golf scene.
