The Prairie Club

The Prairie Club sits in the Nebraska Sandhills near Valentine, a remote stretch of grass-covered dunes that has become one of American golf's great destinations. The resort opened in 2010 with two full-length courses of deliberately different character. The Dunes, routed by Tom Lehman and Chris Brands, is a wide, walkable out-and-back layout with generous fairways and enormous greens flowing over rolling sand ridges. The Pines, designed by Graham Marsh, tracks the rim of the Snake River Canyon through stands of ancient ponderosa pine, mixing forest holes with dramatic dune terrain and canyon-edge exposure. A short course called The Horse Course adds a playful third option. The whole property leans into firm, fast, ground-game golf and big-sky isolation, rewarding golfers willing to make the long drive into the middle of the country for links-style play far from any city.
