Windsong Farm Golf Club

Windsong Farm Golf Club opened in 2004 on land in Independence, Minnesota that was once a Paso Fino horse farm, roughly 30 minutes west of Minneapolis. The original South Course was designed by John Fought with input from Minnesota's own Tom Lehman, and it quickly earned a reputation as one of the state's premier private layouts, blending classic American strategic design with dramatic movement through rolling farmland, wetlands and woodland. After a financial rescue in 2012 by owner David Meyer, the club invested heavily in its golf. In 2025 it opened a second full 18-hole championship layout, the North Course, also by John Fought, making Windsong Farm the only private club in Minnesota to offer two courses of this caliber. Firm turf, bold bunkering and quiet countryside define the experience.
