Tumble Creek Golf Course

Tumble Creek is a private mountain course at Suncadia Resort near Cle Elum, about an hour east of Seattle over the Cascades, which opened in 2006. It was Tom Doak's first design in the Pacific Northwest, and it reflects his minimalist philosophy: he 'found' the holes in the existing terrain and moved as little earth as possible. The routing flows through pine forest, along river bluffs and across mountain meadows ringed by peaks, with wide fairways, waste areas in place of rough, and large, quick, undulating greens that yield endlessly varied pin positions. Playing to roughly 7,100 yards, it is consistently ranked among Washington's top private courses by national publications. The alpine-meets-high-desert setting gives the round a firm, fast, strategic character distinct from anything on the state's wetter west side.
