About Winter Park Country Club Golf Course
Opened in the fall of 1914 under Charles H. Morse and Harley A. Ward, Winter Park is one of Central Florida's oldest golf courses. Ward and Dow George laid out the original 9-hole course on roughly 25 acres, winding through historic downtown Winter Park. Over its history it has drawn play from legends including Ben Hogan, Sam Snead, Gene Sarazen and Walter Hagen, and it remains a public 9-hole walking course operated by the city.
