About Abilene Country Club South Course (Fairway)

The South Course is the former Fairway Oaks course, which opened in 1980 as part of the Fairway Oaks Golf & Racquet Club, built by course architect Ron Garl with 1971 Masters champion (and Abilene native) Charles Coody. The par-72 layout, about 7,166 yards, hosted the PGA Tour's Southwest Golf Classic from 1981 to 1988. Fairway Oaks is now part of Abilene Country Club as its South Course.
