About Amarillo Country Club
Amarillo Country Club was established in 1919, reportedly the first country club in the Texas Panhandle, with its founding led by banker and oilman Charles A. Fisk. The original course was designed by William McConnell. It was later redesigned by Warren Cantrell in 1960 and by Jay Morrish in 1983, with a major course and clubhouse renovation in 2012. Over the years the private club has hosted exhibitions featuring golfers such as Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan and Byron Nelson.
