About Brownsville Golf Center

The Brownsville Golf Center is an 18-hole regulation municipal course (par 70, roughly 6,144 yards) at 1800 W San Marcelo Boulevard. It was built in 1971 and renovated in 1999, when the City of Brownsville took over its management. The course is known for its Bermuda greens and its 601-yard par-5 18th hole, billed as the longest hole in the Rio Grande Valley. Golf directory listings credit the design to architect Donald Sechrest, though the city's own site does not name a designer.
