About Amherst Golf Club

The Amherst Golf Club dates to 1900 and sits on land owned by Amherst College, run independently by an incorporated group of local golfers. Its nine-hole, par-35 layout was designed by Walter Hatch — an assistant to the famed Donald Ross — and later refined by New England architect Geoffrey Cornish. Compact but demanding, it is known for greens that run fast and true in the heart of the Pioneer Valley college town.
