The Country Club of Greenfield traces to the Greenfield Golf Club of the 1890s and opened at its current location in 1901 with a course designed by Alex Findlay, who routed holes into a natural amphitheater of surrounding hills. Mass Golf's 125 Series documents Findlay's 1901 Greenfield design as part of golf's spread across western Massachusetts; it is one of the older golf clubs in New England.
