Golf came to Great Barrington in 1896 when the club (originally Locustwood Golf Club) built a 9-hole course; it occupied three locations before settling at its current Baldwin Farm site in 1912. The present 18-hole parkland layout was designed in 1913 by Robert Pryde of New Haven and largely survives intact; in the 1920s Charles H. Banks reworked holes, creating the signature 17th. A converted horse barn serves as the clubhouse.
