Bunker Hills Golf Course

Bunker Hills opened in 1968 as a public course on Anoka County land, designed by architect David Gill, with a third nine added in 1989 to form today's 27-hole municipal layout. Set among the sandy pines and namesake bunkers of the northern Twin Cities suburbs, the rolling, tree-lined design has long ranked among the metro's busiest daily-fee draws. Its championship pedigree runs deep: Bunker Hills hosted the 1976 U.S. Amateur Public Links, numerous Minnesota Opens, and, most notably, the Champions Tour's Burnet Senior Classic from 1993 through 2000, where senior stars including Chi-Chi Rodriguez, Raymond Floyd and Hale Irwin lifted the trophy. When the senior event moved to TPC Twin Cities in 2001, Bunker Hills remained a proving ground for regional amateur and professional golf.
