About California Golf Course

California Golf Course is a Cincinnati Recreation Commission municipal course on Kellogg Avenue in the city's east end, overlooking the Ohio River. Credited to Indiana architect William Diddel, it was a Depression-era addition to the city system: a 1937 Golfdom report describes the "new" California course with its first nine in play in 1935 (many listings give 1936 for the full opening). The 18-hole, par-70 layout is known for its towering old-growth trees.
