Capital City Country Club in Tallahassee traces to the Tallahassee Country Club organized in 1908, with a 9-hole course by English professional H.H. Barker completed in 1914. The club deeded the land to the City in 1935, after which a WPA grant funded expansion to 18 holes with design input reviewed by Hall of Fame architect A.W. Tillinghast; it became the private Capital City Country Club in 1956 and is on the Florida Historic Golf Trail.
